It feels like the PETA example, and the feminist/rape one were intended to be scored as overall losses for PETA/feminists, and that's made more explicity with the ferguson one.

But that feels wrong to me. PETA seem incredibly successful in their mission, for exactly the reasons outlined by the author, and the people reacting to them, including the author, are only helping them, again for exactly the reasons laid out here.

So, did we skip over the bit where it's argued that PETA is actually holding back progress towards vegan/no-cruelty issues?
